Editorial standards

This page explains who writes the guides, how version claims are checked, how corrections work, and why advertising does not decide what the site publishes.

Who writes and maintains this site

hklifesim.com is maintained by the developer of HK Life: Legacy. The same identity publishes the game and dated development posts on itch.io. The project is independent and currently has one developer; there is no invented editorial team or outside endorsement.

Guides are written for players who want to understand a system, not for search engines alone. Each page is signed, dated and linked back to the public correction path.

How gameplay claims are checked

Version-dependent claims are checked against the owned browser build, direct playtesting and dated first-party development posts. Each guide states whether it covers the current age 6–25 demo or the planned full game.

Numbers such as DSE thresholds, medical-programme routes and job-market behaviour can change when the build changes. A dated developer log takes priority over an older guide, and an unverifiable claim is not presented as a current fact.

AI assistance and human responsibility

The official itch.io disclosure identifies AI assistance in game code. On this website, drafting and translation tools may assist with structure or language, but the publisher remains responsible for what is published, for testing claims against the build, and for correcting mistakes.

The site does not publish auto-generated pages whose only purpose is to capture search traffic. Guides are edited around real player decisions and are labelled when a system is not yet playable.

Advertising and editorial independence

The site may display advertising through Google AdSense. Advertising is kept separate from editorial judgement: payment or ad demand does not buy a positive review, a guide placement or a claim about the game.

Pages that are excluded from search, such as future-game material, do not load advertising code. The privacy policy explains the data flows created by analytics, consent and advertising.

Corrections and contact

If a page is inaccurate, email the page URL, the build or update date you tested, the choice you made and the result you observed. Reproducible corrections are reviewed against the current build.

Corrections are made to the page itself rather than hidden in a separate notice. The last-checked date changes when a page is materially revised.
